My first Thanksgiving was full of great food, and lots of love and laughter at the Yoo household.
As usual, I got a lot of attention and TLC from Uncle Danny’s parents aka Halmoni and Harabeoji (“Grandma” and “Grandpa” in Korean). They are such gracious hosts. I know that Lolo and Lola had fun, too, on their first visit to Murrieta/Temecula. We all felt right at home. Other family members in attendance aside from Uncle Danny and Tita Ging were Uncle Sammy (Uncle Danny’s brother), Auntie Alice (Uncle Sammy’s wife), Auntie Grace (Auntie Alice’s sister), Uncle Keith (Auntie Grace’s husband), their kids: Ava and Bobby (who hands down all his cool clothes to me!), Uncle Eugene (Auntie Alice’s brother), Auntie Annie (Uncle Danny’s cousin). This was also our first time really hanging out with Auntie Annie’s parents. They both are SO GOOD at karaoke! It was so much fun! Even with all the excitement, I was able to sleep soundly. Auntie Annie’s mom was a natural at being able to get me to nap.
There were so many special moments that I’ll never forget. Like Uncle Danny and Harabeoji playing “Just Dance 2” on the Wii and dancing to Beyonce’s “All the Single Ladies!” Another highlight was when the whole family went on a hard-core hike and I stayed behind with Halmoni and we had some quality time together.
Above are just a few of the shots from our legendary visit.
