UCLA - home of the Bruins

It was a gorgeous day to walk around and enjoy being outside.  Perfect weather.  Not too hot.  Not too cold.  Just right!  Mom and Jeff had been meaning to visit the campus and so a day trip to UCLA proved to be a fun adventure we could share with Cedro.  © Photo by Ardith Ibañez NishiiIn a few minutes, the #1 Big Blue Bus took us right into campus from our neighborhood.  I think Cedro enjoyed the ride (as he does all sorts of rides).  He didn’t have much to say.  He just calmly looked out the window.  We brought the entire car seat stroller contraption which was nice to have since we went all over campus, but I knew that next time I would (a) bring less stuff in the diaper bag and (b) not bring the stroller if I were by myself.  I© Photo by Ardith Ibañez Nishii knew it would be too much to maneuver without two helpful grandparents by my side!

Once we were on campus, we didn’t have much of an agenda.  We just wandered a bit and explored… Cedro was most interested in all the big trees.  We had a leisurely lunch… even leisurely for me!  © Photo by Ardith Ibañez NishiiFor once, I didn’t have to rush to gulf down my food before breastfeeding.  Cedro just calmly sat in the stroller waiting for me.  He also spent quite a while after lunch chatting with Grandma and Grandpa.  His least favorite part of the day was when I took him into the public bathroom to change his diaper after our lunch break.  He freaked out over the sound of the toilets flushing and those fancy Dyson hand dryers.  This only happened once before when we were at a winery in Temecula.  Go figure.  I guess we’ve found our perfect Superbaby’s kryptonite — loud public bathrooms!

It was a great day.
